GROUP SHED HUNT - Saturday, March 6th!
The 5th Annual Group Shed was held March 6th, 2010. It was another success with about 50 people and 50 sheds! Troy and I would like to thank all of you who where able to attend and make it successful.
This was our first year in a new location and I think most people really liked the area. We had plenty of public land to spread out on so that the deer didn't even know we were there! As with past years we had shed hunters join the gathering from all parts of the state (Eugene, Burns, Tillamook, Medford, Lakeview, Salem, Prineville...). It looked like everyone including the kids and dogs had fun. Again, thank you to everyone that traveled several hours or more to join us!
The shed hunting was decent but considering the mild winter that we have had, the sheds were pretty scattered. The hunts yielded several nice four points, several brownies, lots of year old sheds, quite a bit of chalk, and some not really worth hauling home.
At 5pm OSH barbequed hamburgers and hotdogs for the potluck dinner. After the barbeque, OSH gave away prizes in several categories. Categories included the most sheds found (for 12 years old and under and for adult), biggest shed found (male, female and kid), smallest shed found, most chalk, farthest distance driven, etc. Prizes included several custom framed photos compliments of Camerguy's Photography, Danner and Leupold hats, OSH hitch plug, Cabela's mini tools, Cabela's knife, Danner Flashlight, decals, and more. Everybody that was present after the barbeque received some sort of prize.
CameraGuy and his wife Gayle were presented with a Special Thank You Award ($100 Nosler gift certificate, OSH Hitch Plug, new OSH hats, and $50 Sportsmans Warehouse card) for single-handedly keeping the OSH web-page updated and running smoothly for us over the past several years. We truly appreciate their help and couldn't keep OSH running without their devoted assistance!
After the prizes were all awarded most people sat around the fire and told stories. About thirty people stayed the night and some went shed hunting on Sunday.
What a great weekend of fun! Troy and I met a lot of great people and truly appreciate everybodys support. We look forward to next year, or maybe another this year?!

campfire video!
The sunrise pictures were taken Sunday morning by Ricochet.
After the fire pictures, is a picture of some black gloves that were sitting on a sage bush that I found Sunday morning. Also, a couple of lawn chairs that were left. If any of these items are yours, I brought them home to Burns; let me know if they are yours and we'll try to get them returned or we'll bring them to the next outing. You are welcome to come to Burns to pick them up or??? Had a great time meeting everyone. Hope to see you again.
